Mahindra BE Rall-e off-road e-SUV spotted on test — Launch soon?

Mahindra first showcased the off-road version of the BE 6 electric SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo in its flashy lime green colour. Mahindra BE Rall-e spied on test

The Mahindra BE Rall-e is inching closer to its production stage, as revealed by a recent spy shot. The model was equipped with a roof rack and circular LED headlights up front, confirming it to be the off-road focused Rall-e spec. However, other key details were covered with heavy camouflage. Another important detail is the short front bumper, which enables higher visibility of the front wheel, hinting towards focusing on a higher approach angle than the BE 6.

First Mahindra EV with AWD?

Stating the obvious, the Mahindra BE Rall-e will come with a dual-motor AWD setup, staying true to its off-road origins. It is likely to be the first Mahindra electric SUV to come with dual-motor AWD drivetrain, while the BE 6 and XEV 9e only come with a single motor rear-wheel drivetrain. In addition, Mahindra could also offer some interesting off-road specific features and modes for added advantage over its competition, which is likely to include the Tata Harrier EV with its dual motor configuration.

Mahindra BE Rall-e launch details

A recent leaked video revealed the launch timeline of Mahindra’s new range of electric SUVs. The video teaser featured the XUV700 electric as well as the BE Rall-e, stating launch for the year 2025. Assuming that the launch of the XUV700 Electric will take place first, we can expect the BE Rall-e launch to take place in the later part of the year 2025. Once launched, it will find a niche in the market as a lifestyle AWD electric model coupled with its aggressive design and loads of new-age features.
